Located 2 blocks from the Austin Convention Center and 2 blocks from the 2nd Street restaurant area, the location of the Hyatt Place Hotel is good. There is a Royal Blue Grocery store opposite the hotel. The staff are friendly and the breakfast is plentiful even if the choices are not varied. Room temperature control is not as easy to use as I expected but at least there was air-conditioning. The room floors are mostly wooden as it is advisable to bring slippers as those are not provided. The rooms are decent sized with a sofa/couch area included. The queen sized bed mattress tended to be a bit soft. Pillows were firm enough. There were generous number of lamps in the room. There is decent thai restaurant (Mai Thai) nearby, next to the excellent Revolucion cafe. The famous Gus Fried Chicken restaurant is just 1 block away also.

The staff is friendly and inviting. They go above and beyond to meet guests needs. Breakfast is included and has comprehensive buffet options (the best breakfast is served in the weekends). The rooms are big which allowed us to have other conference attendees over without feeling crammed. It's right next to a market in case you need water, juice, or a late night sandwich. I'd also 1 block away from PF Changs, local Thai spot, coffee shop, and brunch spot. Overall, this property is clean and the BEST location for getting a feel of downtown Austin while attending a conference (the convention center is 1 block away so there is no need to spend money on Ubers) or traveling solo.

The front desk staff provided exceptional service from the moment I arrived, handling my early luggage storage and post-checkout bags seamlessly, securely, and free of charge. Their accommodating attitude and helpfulness with information about the hotel and area were much appreciated. The elevators were prompt and not crowded, while the breakfast offered a great variety of hot and cold food, with fresh coffee and ample seating. Overall, everything was clean and well-maintained, leaving a strong impression and ensuring I will stay again.

The room was spacious for 2 adults and 3 children. The breakfast was great and had a lot of options that changed each day, which was great for all of us, too. The location was nice and easy to access downtown attractions and cross over to South Congress. Also, our kids loved the business center in the lobby and its a nice spot to take a family photo. We ordered Uber Eats a few nights and were able to easily eat in the lobby.

Erika

The breakfast food was good quality (steel cut oatmeal, whole grain bread, freshly cut fruit.) But exactly the same stuff every day. We were there for 6 days. Staff were helpful and friendly. The room was cleaned well daily. The location is excellent within walking distance of many restaurants, music venues, and funky places. The capitol bridge with the roosting bats is only 3 blocks away.
